Repair or replace
Color match decides a lot of these. A three-year-old panel can be replaced. A fifteen-year-old panel usually cannot be matched, and the patch is obvious from the street.
Before anything is torn off
If an insurance claim is open, photograph the wall first. Soft spots, missing house wrap, and a leaking window are scope, not surprises to hide under new vinyl.
