Fiber cement is the upgrade when vinyl is the wrong tool: hail alleys, wet climates, and streets or codes that want a noncombustible lap. It paints, it is heavier, and it costs more.
Where it earns the price
A typical fiber cement re-side often runs $11,000 to $22,000. California, the Northeast, and hail states are where it shows up most. It does not make a wet wall dry. Flashing and wrap still have to be right.
