Vinyl siding
Vinyl is still the largest share of siding installed in the United States. It is the right product when you want a dry wall and a color you do not have to paint, not when you need a fire-rated or heavy-hail wall.

What the install includes
Tear-off or install over sound existing siding, house wrap where the wall is open, starter strip, panels, J-channel, and trim. A bid that skips the wrap and the flashing at the windows is a cheap bid, not a low one.
A typical house in 2026 often lands between $6,500 and $14,000 installed. Stories, foam backer, and rot under the old panels move that number. Insulated vinyl costs more and is worth talking about on a thin wall in a cold state.
